Nike advert evaluation

Nike advert evaluation
After showing our Nike advert, we sent out a questionnaire to the viewers to get feedback on the quality of the advert. In this evaluation, I will look at the reaction to the advert and see what things could have been improved. Also, I will interview a member of the class for their thoughts and opinions.

When we asked the audience if they liked the advert, we got a positive response of everyone saying “yes”.  When we asked what could be improved in the advert, a few responses showed how they noticed that there was a hand visible in some of the shots along with some shadows as well. If we were to do this again, we must make sure to be more carful and take our time more when moving the bits of paper in-between shots. Also, someone mentioned how we could have aimed it towards girls more, rather than just boys. If we were to make another Nike advert, we would try to widen the range of sports so that there could be a couple more feminine sports included.

We then asked if the audience are encouraged to buy more Nike trainers after seeing this advert, with the response of 57% saying “no”. This is interesting due to how they all said that they liked the advert, yet it did not make them want to buy the product (which is the main point of the advert).  An improvement for next time would be to add elements to the advert that would spark something in the audience’s mind that would encourage them to want to buy the product, for example showing the trainers in use (someone wearing them).

I got inspiration for this advert from a “Just do it” Nike advert (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pp5dZZBKTXQ)that focused a lot more upon the sound and rhythm. It used a range of sports, which made me see that it is more effective for an advert to have more than one sport included, and that’s why I included football, rugby, tennis and basketball. The advert was effective due to the style being very eye catching and the various sporting stars that appeared. I hope that my advert had the same effect, even if it didn’t include the Wayne Rooney’s of this world. I think that the cut out stop motion would have grabbed people’s attention and by the way that the trainers had such human characteristics, the audience would have been drawn in and more interested in buying a pair of Nike trainers.
