Joseph Plateau

Joseph Plateau is seen as the producer of the movie and the animation film. This is due to his contribution to Michael Faraday's phenakistiscope. 

16 identical drawings are put in to different sections of the circle, which then shows a stationary image when you look through the slits at the revolving disc in a mirror, is what Micheal Faraday's phenakistiscope consists of.

Plateau's contribution was the idea to put 16 images that he has drawn, that changes a little each time, instead of 16 identical images. This creates the illusion of movement as the images quickly change and fade into each other.
